Analytik Jena Participates with Team in jenAKTIV Kart Charity “Kinder fitter machen” on behalf of the Association jenAKTIV e.V.

Jena, September 12, 2012 — Analytik Jena AG participated in yesterday's jenAKTIV kart charity with five employees from the Life Science Business Unit. As part of this 4th charity event under the slogan “Kinder fitter machen” (Making children fitter), the team of Analytik Jena, a Jena-based manufacturer of laboratory, bioanalytical and analytical technology, which included René Eckardt from FC Carl Zeiss Jena, participated in a 3-hour go-kart race for a good cause along with six other teams from regional companies. The proceeds from the participation fee of the participating companies are used to support jenAKTIV e.V.

JenAKTIV e.V. is a public charity committed to promoting exercise for children in Jena at elementary schools and daycare centers. The health-promoting sports and exercise lessons for children of preschool and elementary school age also focuses on making sports and exercise fun and enjoyable and on encouraging team spirit.

In an exciting and extremely fair and sportsmanlike go-kart race at the go-kart track in Jena, the Analytik Jena AG team finished in 5th place. “Overall a successful event, in which the most important thing was not the finishing positions, but competing in a sportsmanlike manner for a good cause. True to the Olympic ideal — it’s the taking part that counts — for us the most important thing was also to make a contribution to supporting the jenAKTIV association and its important work and thus support the promotion of children’s exercise,” said Alexander Berka, Manager of the Life Science Business Unit at Analytik Jena AG.
